After a car accident in Los Angeles on Friday, Anne Heche was taken to the hospital in critical condition.
According to TMZ, the 53-year-old Emmy Award winner was in a blue Mini Cooper when it crashed into a home in the 1700 block of South Walgrove Ave. in Mar Vista, igniting the building.
It was reported by KTLA and CBS News that the car was registered to “Anne Heche,” but PEOPLE has not confirmed this independently.

“Structural compromise” and “heavy fire” were caused by the accident, according to the Los Angeles Fire Department, and the female driver of the vehicle was transported to a nearby hospital in critical condition. Only one other person was taken to the hospital with minor injuries.
According to TMZ, Heche has been intubated but is expected to make a full recovery.
During her transfer to the ambulance on a stretcher, footage from Sky5 shows that Heche appeared to be awake and conversing with the firefighters she was being carried in.
59 firefighters responded to the call at 10:56 a.m., and it took them 65 minutes to extinguish the fire and free the driver, according to an LAFD press release.
This was a very complex incident, as LAFD Captain Erik Scott told television station KTLA. “We had a major traffic accident, a woman was pinned inside,
a car caught fire, and then a house caught fire and was declared a disaster. At this point, it’s a total loss.”
She hit the garage of an apartment complex first, witnesses told TMZ, then reversed and accelerated, hitting the nearby house shortly thereafter, witnesses said.
