It’s everything here in our recap of *deep breath* Attack on Titan Season 4 Part 3 AKA Attack on Titan Final Season part 3 and AKA Attack on Titan Final Season Final Arc. Phew. When is Attack on Titan Final Season Part 3 Returning?
Final Season Part 3 of Attack on Titan will premiere in 2023. Twitter provided this information alongside a teaser for the third episode of season four, which was posted on the show’s official account (which you can watch below). We have no idea what else we can tell you.
As long as there is a clear timeframe for when it will be released, it is unlikely that the film will be postponed.
Expected Attack on Titan Episode 88 Release Date
In the nearly ten years since its debut, Attack on Titan has traversed a slew of release dates. Since 2013, new seasons of anime have premiered in the regular spring, fall, and winter windows of the medium’s conventional release cycle.
It’s possible that episode 88 of Attack on Titan will be released in the late winter of 2022/23, around January or February of that year.
Why? The first two episodes of the Final Season were released in December 2020 and January 2022. Since the pattern has been established, there should be enough time to deliver at the same time next year barring production difficulties. To expedite production, Part 3 will be shorter than Parts 1 and 2, as we’ll see soon enough.
Is Attack on Titan Final Season Part 3 a Movie?
There was a rumor that the final season of Attack on Titan will be made into a film. Jujutsu Kaisen Zero and Demon Slayer Mugen Train, two of the most popular ‘canon’ anime films ever made, maybe to blame.
Here, though, that’s not the case. In the last season of Attack on Titan, the manga’s final chapters will be adapted into a series of television episodes, rather than a film.
How Many Episodes of Attack on Titan Are Left?
Although we don’t know for sure, Part 3 is likely to be a brief one. This is because there is a severe shortage of new materials.
Season four of Attack on Titan included chapters 91-116 of the manga, which required 16 episodes to adapt. There were a total of 12 episodes in Final Season Part 2, which covered chapters 117-130.
At the current manga-to-episode ratio, there are only nine manga chapters left to adapt, which suggests that the third season of Attack on Titan could span roughly ten episodes. MAPPA’s approach to the (expected) action-heavy moments shortly could push that number up to 12 or 13.
Attack on Titan Final Season Part 3 Trailer
The 15-second trailer plays a more menacing soundtrack as those who oppose Eren (Mikasa, Armin, Jean and Hange) are seen following in the footsteps of one of the Colossal Titans: Falco (Pieck), Connie (Levi) and Reiner (Reiner).
The fact that Levi is wearing ODM gear while on the hunt for the former Scout is noteworthy, even if it is just a metaphor for following in Eren’s footsteps. He may be ready to go for the third and final installment of the Final Season, despite sustaining serious injuries earlier in the season.
Attack on Titan Final Season Story: What to Expect From Part 3
First and foremost, the long-running feud between Paradise and Marley appears to be coming to an end. There is a lot of speculation about what will happen in the third instalment.
An attempt by Eren to kill the planet by mobilising the Titan armies trapped behind Paradis’ conflicts have begun. After killing everyone outside of Paradis, Eren hopes to liberate his comrades from the cycle of vengeance that will surely return to Paradis’ “devils.”
The confluence of forces between Paradis and Marley stands in Eren’s way. They are made up of Eren’s’sister Mikasa, his old Survey Corps buddies, and the last of Marley’s famous forces.
Before we get to the final clash, we have to deal with a few surprises. Floch is the most important of these individuals. Despite Gabi’s shooting, the devoted lieutenant to Eren appeared to survive his fall into the sea. The show’s final act will feature a significant part for him.
Zeke, too, is most likely still tucked away somewhere on the chessboard. Zeke may be trapped in the Coordinate as a result of Eren’s actions in Part 2, but he’s a time traveller par excellence.
There are also Jaegerists—those who support—who may lose faith in Eren’s rampage around the planet. The outcome of the war may be decided by whether or not they support or oppose Eren.
In the end, the fate of the planet will be decided by a fight between Eren and Mikasa. If she can get him to give up his warpath, it could make all the difference in the world.
