Published by DC Comics’ Elseworlds line from November 2000 to January 2001, The Doom That Came to Gotham consists of three issues. The story, co-written by Mike Mignola and Richard Pace and illustrated by Troy Nixey (pencils) and Dennis Janke (inks), with Mignola providing covers, follows a 1920s-era Batman, after accidentally reawakening the being known as the Lurker on the Threshold, must fight against the mystical and supernatural forces that are sweeping through Gotham.

The Doom That Came to Gotham Gets 4K UHD Release This Spring

The Dark Knight is put to the test in Batman: The Doom That Came to Gotham, a DC animated film, as he battles Lovecraftian otherworldly forces that threaten Gotham City. On March 28, you’ll be able to acquire the latest Batman feature film, based on the 2001 miniseries by Mike Mignola, Richard Pace, and Troy Nixey, in digital format, on Blu-ray, and in a 4K Ultra HD Blu-ray Combo Pack.
In Batman: The Doom That Came to Gotham, we get a 1920s update of the classic Batman story, complete with reimagined versions of Batman’s most famous allies and foes like Green Arrow, Ra’s al Ghul, Mr. Freeze, Killer Croc, Two-Face, and James Gordon.
Special features include audio commentary from producer and co-director Sam Liu (The Death and Return of Superman) and screenwriter Jase Ricci (Teen Titans Go! and DC Super Hero Girls: Mayhem in the Multiverse) on both the 4K Ultra HD and Blu-ray Discs, which also include the new PG-13 rated 90-minute film. The film’s extras also contain a new featurette called Batman: Shadows of Gotham.
