Jackson rushed for 2,782 yards and 16 touchdowns in four seasons in the NFL, with an average of 5.4 yards per carrying. His receiving stats were even better, as he hauled in 40 passes for 352 yards and two scores.

He suffered a dislocated hip in a tackle during his final professional football game in January 1991. The avascular necrosis of his left hip joint necessitated a hip replacement.
