Ginny and Georgia Season 2: Season 2 of Ginny & Georgia has finally arrived, nearly two years after the series finale ended on a shocking cliffhanger in February 2021, and it looks like it was worth the wait. At the end of Season 1, Ginny (Antonia Gentry) and her younger brother made plans to flee after learning that their mother had murdered their stepfather. The second season picks up not long after the conclusion of the first, with Ginny still reeling from the revelation that her mother is a murderer while juggling the usual teen drama.
Meanwhile, Brianne Howey’s Geogia is completely absorbed in wedding preparations. Ahead of the premiere, Netflix released a first-look image (see below) showing Ginny and her on-again, off-again boyfriend Marcus sharing a moment. While this is going on, Georgia can be seen cuddling up to her fiance Paul.

Ginny And Georgia Season 2 Release Date
The second season of Ginny and Georgia premiered on Netflix on January 5, 2023. Debra J. Fisher, the show’s executive producer, and head writer announced on TikTok in September 2022 that production on Season 2 was complete.
“I can tell you this much: we finished filming just now. What does that imply, then? Netflix estimates that dubbing Ginny and Georgia into all non-English speaking languages will take 14 weeks “fisherman, explaining things via the internet. On Monday, April 19, 2021, Netflix broke the news of the renewal of the show for a second season with a video tweet featuring the show’s main cast. The two of us are so excited that we just had to tell everyone right away. Marcus, played by Felix Mallard, makes a statement in the clip.
According to Brianne Howey, Diesel La Torraca, and Felix Mallard, “this means more surprises, more living room dance parties, and more climbing through windows.”
The drama-comedy premiered on Netflix in February 2021 and immediately became a social media phenomenon, quickly rising to the top 10 most popular shows on the service. In the United States, Forbes reported that Ginny and Georgia set a new record by staying at the top of Netflix’s top 10 charts for 28 consecutive days, making it more popular than the anticipated 2020 smash hit Tiger King.

In the upcoming season, Aaron Ashmore will join the cast as Gil Timmins, Georgia’s ex and Austin’s father, per Deadline. And Ginny and Georgia, played by Antonia Gentry and Brianne Howey, respectively, would not be back on the show without them.
Diesel La Torraca, who plays Georgia’s son Austin, Jennifer Robertson, who plays her next-door neighbor Ellen, Felix Mallard, who plays Ginny’s love interest Marcus, and Sara Waisglass, who plays Ginny’s best friend Max, are also likely to return. What follows is the official plot summary for the upcoming show: “How do you live with the knowledge that your mother is a murderer?” This is something Ginny (Antonia Gentry) will have to work out. As if learning that her stepfather Kenny didn’t die of natural causes wasn’t enough, Ginny must now cope with the knowledge that her stepmother Georgia (Brianne Howey) murdered Kenny “to protect Ginny.”
Pictures from the set also suggest that a major wedding will play a significant role in the sequel.
Set photos show Georgia (Brianne Howey), the mother of the pair, dressed in an all-white wedding outfit and holding a bouquet as she sits next to Ginny (Antonia Gentry) in a white carriage and drives off (via Digital Spy). After Ginny and her younger brother Austin (Diesel La Torraca) stole a motorcycle and rode out of Wellsbury, this would suggest that Georgia and Ginny have patched things up. Based on the events of the first season, we can also hazard some educated guesses. In addition to establishing a larger role for Ginny’s father, the show also teased the return of Austin’s father, played by Aaron Ashmore.
Austin’s mysterious absences from school were never addressed, and in the series finale, we learn that Ginny did mail her brother’s letters to their father, which greatly unnerved Georgia. In an interview with Entertainment Weekly, the showrunners dropped hints about how much more of Georgia’s mysterious past and present will be revealed. For example, in Season 2, we will find out if Georgia’s wedding to the dashing mayor of their town, Paul Randolph (Scott Porter), goes ahead without one of her many secrets leaking out.

Will Ginny And Marcus Get Together?
Even though Ginny and Marcus slept together in the pilot episode, they did not officially start dating until season 2. Viewers are therefore eager to see if the pair stays together this coming year.
It’s possible that won’t happen for a while, though, because their one night of passion ended in total discord. Max hasn’t forgiven Ginny yet for cheating on her with Marcus, and her ex-boyfriend Hunter cut ties with her after finding out.
There’s also the fact that Ginny and Austin rode away from Wellsbury on a motorcycle at the end of the pilot. The two will likely come back, but where they end up could have significant consequences for Season 2.
Series star Antonia Gentry revealed to TVLine, “When she’s packing her bag, she grabs the book that Zion gives her, and if you were paying attention when Zion arrived and was giving her the book, you know that he included an address. A coded message from him reveals his Boston address to her. Consequently, I believe it is fair to speculate that Ginny is making her way to the Holy Land.

The show’s focus seems set to remain on the fraught dynamics between Georgia and her 15-year-old daughter, Ginny, and this could take her to some disturbing places.
Debra J. Fisher, the show’s creator, and showrunner, recently told Entertainment Weekly, “We can’t talk about season 2, but what I will say is, where we always wanted season 1 to end was with Ginny protecting her mom, but by doing so, having blood on her hands.”
