A Texas woman who was trying to earn money for her grandfather’s funeral expenses by selling her JJ Watt sneakers got some unexpected assistance from the Arizona Cardinals defensive end.
Jennifer Simpson’s grandfather passed away the day after Father’s Day, and the Simpson family had been scrimping and saving for weeks in order to pay for his burial.
Simpson tweeted that she was selling $30 pairs of the women’s version of the Reebok JJ Watt shoes to raise money.
She stated on Wednesday that she was selling the Watt jersey and the shoes to help pay for her grandfather’s burial expenses.
After waiting twenty minutes for a response, the former Texan star shared some encouraging news.

KHOU reports that Watt promptly transferred the funds via PayPal. Watt “lifted a burden off of us,
” the family told the station, and the station also sent the family’s appreciation to the many people who have assisted them.
