Kirk Originally from Illinois, Daniel Cousins entered the world on August 19, 1988. His parents, Don and Maryann Cousins, are the senior pastor and associate pastor, respectively, at Discovery Church in Orlando, Florida.
While attending Holland Christian High School (Holland, Michigan), Cousins was a standout athlete for the Maroons in three different sports: football, baseball (as a third baseman and a pitcher), and basketball.

At the 2012 NFL Draft, the Washington Redskins picked Cousins with the seventh pick of the fourth round (102nd overall).
Cousins replaced Robert Griffin III as the starting quarterback in 2015.
In a 23-20 victory over the Philadelphia Eagles on October 4, Cousins led a game-winning drive that covered 90 yards and ended with a touchdown pass to Pierre Garçon with less than a minute remaining in regulation.
Cousins signed a three-year, $84 million contract with the Minnesota Vikings on March 15, 2018. This deal is the first in NFL history to be fully guaranteed, and it also has the highest salary at the time of signing.
He started his first game as a Viking and led the team to a 24-16 victory over the San Francisco 49ers. He threw for 244 yards and two touchdowns. A week later, Cousins threw for 425 yards in a game against the Green Bay Packers.
