To date, no player has ever repeated as Italian League champion on two different teams, but Jari did just that (Fortitudo Bologna in 2000 and Virtus Bologna in 2001).

The Los Angeles Clippers took Jari with the 30th overall choice in the 2000 NBA Draft. He stayed with the organization for three years before being sent off to the Minnesota Timberwolves in 2005 alongside Lionel Chalmers in exchange for Sam Cassell and a first-round draught pick. Marko was part of an eight-player transaction that sent him to the Memphis Grizzlies in 2008, along with then-rookie O.J. Mayo and eventual MVP Kevin Love.

For the 2009-10 season, the Grizzlies and Jari agreed that he would not participate in training camp or preseason games. He was allowed to try to negotiate a trade and was ultimately released.

Jari returned to Europe in 2009 to continue his basketball career, signing with Real Madrid of the Spanish Liga ACB. He joined Montepaschi Siena of the Italian LBA in 2011. Marko Jaric tried to make a comeback to the NBA with the Chicago Bulls in 2012, but he was eventually released.
