Bills from Buffalo

Expect Josh Allen and the Buffalo Bills to come out swinging this season after losing in overtime to the Kansas City Chiefs in last year’s AFC Divisional Round.

That game ultimately led to the NFL adopting new overtime playoff rules. Allen, who will be starting at quarterback for the Bills for the fifth year in a row, has shown time and time again that he can play well when the stakes are high.

Allen had a completion percentage of 76.4 (with 9 touchdown throws and 14 interceptions) in those two postseason games from the previous year.

Allen has thrown for 4,544 yards and 37 touchdowns for the Bills in 2020, and 4,407 yards and 36 touchdowns in 2021, all of which are team records.

The Bills are the preseason favorites to win the Super Bowl after acquiring Von Miller in free agency and signing WR Stefon Diggs to a $96 million agreement over four years.

Buffalo has made the playoffs four times in the past five years and wants to return to the Super Bowl after missing it in 1993.

San Diego Chargers

The New England Patriots won the Super Bowl in 2003 and 2004; Matthew Stafford and the Los Angeles Rams hope to become the first team to repeat as winners since then.

Stafford, who signed a 4-year, $160 million extension with the Rams in March, is not expected to have any limitations coming into Thursday night’s game despite suffering from an elbow injury that left him limited for parts of training camp.
