The government issued an official decree “to establish the title Woman Heroine,
to be bestowed to a mother who is a citizen of the Russian Federation and has given birth to and raised 10 or more children who are citizens of the Russian Federation.”
Incentive Amount Will Be Given for Producing More Children
According to media accounts, eligible women would receive the award after the first birthday of their tenth child.
In the event of a conflict, terrorist attack, or another emergency, a woman is still entitled to the prize under the legislation.
It is worth noting that former Soviet leader Josef Stalin established the “Mother Heroine” award in 1944,
shortly after the country suffered massive population losses due to World War II. Because of the dissolution of the Soviet Union in 1991, the position was no longer recognized.
The demographic shift in Russia is dramatic, especially in the wake of the conflict with Ukraine.
The population has been falling for decades, and by the beginning of 2022, it had dropped to 145.1 million. Since 2021,
when a coronavirus pandemic produced the largest natural population drop in Russia since the fall of the Soviet Union,
the rate of decline has nearly doubled, and since 2020, it has nearly tripled. For more News or posts you can visit TheActiveNews.Com.
