Large sums of money were donated to the Coweta Community Foundation thanks to last week’s Small Town Throwdown concert.
A total of $53,000 was raised for the Coweta Community Foundation thanks to the event starring Brantley Gilbert, LOCASH, Gyth Rigdon, and Dee Jay Silver.
Thank you so much to everyone in our town and to our generous donors. Brantley Gilbert’s performance in Newnan was greatly appreciated. “We witnessed on Wednesday that he and the other performers were able to pull off this massive project and provide a terrific show, making the 2,500 fans here quite pleased,” said CCF Executive Director Kristin Webb.
Webb expressed her appreciation to the companies that sponsored the event for helping the Foundation reach its fundraising goal.
After last year’s sold-out concert with Alan Jackson, Webb and the Coweta Community Foundation were overjoyed to be able to use music as a means of both entertaining locals and earning funds for the latter organisation.
It is her hope that the money raised through sponsorships will “encourage charitable involvement in Coweta County and help us improve the quality of life here.”
Palmetto Entertainment organised the event, and Pepsi served as the Presenting Sponsor. Southtowne Motors provided the vehicles.
Southtowne Motors was the event’s title sponsor, and DTH Expeditors Inc. was the event’s platinum sponsor. Other sponsors included Agrimerica Farm & Construction LLC, Coweta-Fayette EMC, J&M Pools/Turin Pest Control, Buffalo-Rock Pepsi, LaGrange Grocery, Brent Scarbrough & Company, Davis Building & Integrated Science/FSR Homes, and Paramount Engineering.
Grant applications for the next round will be accepted by the Foundation until October 15, 2022; winners will be notified in December. A programme that meets the following criteria is more likely to be awarded a grant:
Any and all grant money must be used for the express purpose of carrying out the proposed project or programme, and the recipient organisation agrees to submit a final written report to the Foundation detailing the results of the endeavour.
A party commemorating the Coweta Community Foundation’s 25th anniversary will be held at Kids Castle Park, the organization’s first official project back in 1997.
The birthday-themed silent auction and countywide art contest for K-12 children will be highlights of this free family-friendly community event. Newnan Utilities Carl Miller Park (74 Sewell Road) is the location for the event on September 25, 2022, from 3 to 6 p.m. You can check TheActiveNews.Com for the latest information.
