Since Top Boy season 4 debuted on the streaming service a year ago, we’ve been on tenterhooks ever since the series’ tense finale. Fortunately, a little more perseverance is needed because Top Boy season 5 is just a few days away.
Going into this final season, fans have many unanswered questions, mainly surrounding what will happen to Dushane (Ashley Walters) and Sully (Kane Robinson), who shocked everyone by choosing to ki!! Jamie (Michael Ward) in the final episode of season 4.
The first official trailer for the series has given us a glimpse of the drama and impending disaster to come, and it appears that Stef (Araloyin Oshunremi), Jamie’s younger brother, will be at the centre of it all as he embarks on a villainous path to exact revenge on Sully for ki!!ing his older brother.

Top Boy Season 5 Release Date
Yes. Shortly after the fourth season of Top Boy on Netflix premiered, it was announced that a fifth would follow. On Thursday, March 31, 2022, the streaming giant said on Twitter that the show would be back for its fifth and final season. The season, which is referred to as “Season 3” on the streaming platform, will be the third one that Netflix has created.
It has also been announced that Top Boy season 5—which Netflix lists as season 3—will premiere on Thursday, September 7, 2023.

The new season will have a total of six episodes, and William Stefan Smith and Myriam Raja will be back in charge of directing. Episodes one through four were directed by BAFTA-nominated Raja, and the remaining two were helmed by BAFTA-winning Stefan Smith. Thanks to COVID restrictions that had not hindered the prior run, filming started last summer.

Following the horrific season 4 cliffhanger, it appears we have seen the last of Micheal Ward as Jamie, a significant character over the previous two seasons. It is unclear how Aaron and Stefan, played by Hope Ikpoku Jr. and Araloyin Oshunremi, and Jamie’s siblings, will play a role in season 5.
Although it doesn’t seem like Aaron will appear in the fifth and final season of the show, based on the trailer, it does seem as though young Stef would try to find Sully on his own or take on his brother’s role.
In addition, Ats’ mother Amma (Jolade Obasola), who was reportedly deported from the UK early in the fourth season, won’t be appearing as Kadeem Ramsay’s Kit because Jamie killed his illicit No. 2 events before his own de@th. As for the other characters on the show, it’s likely that Lisa Dwan will return as Lizzie. However, given that she is now in Dushane’s sights, it’s possible that she won’t be sticking around for very long.
Top Boy Season 5 Plot
Top Boy’s fourth season left a number of plot lines open that could be explored in its fifth and final season. Sully’s actions at the conclusion of the previous season have changed the ground rules for their professional relationship. Everything they have created is threatened by forces both inside and outside of their kingdom as new crises of common interest emerge.
Can they coexist in a world that is changing before them while adhering to the rules of the path they have followed their entire lives? Could there possibly be just one Top Boy?

Most obviously, any new season would need to examine what happened after Jamie was ki!!ed by Sully. Will Sully’s actions spark hostilities between the two former friends now that Dushane has revealed to Sully that he is training Jamie to succeed him?
How will Jamie’s brothers respond to the horrific m*rder, too? Liverpool criminal Curtis (Howard Charles), the fourth season’s main nemesis, didn’t survive, but the rest of his crew, including Curtis’ violent sister, managed to flee after Sully warned them never to return to London.
Last but not least, Dushane’s health was a recurring theme throughout the most recent season that never completely paid off, with the drug lord exhibiting symptoms that seemed to be panic attacks. If Top Boy makes a comeback, this seems destined to be explored further, and we doubt Sully’s efforts will have significantly reduced Dushane’s stress levels.
