They exchanged vows during a small wedding ceremony in the Redwood Forest that also included a “epic” barn dance party. Julianne Hough, Hough’s sister, and pals Nina Dobrev, Jenna Johnson, Maria Menounos, and Shaun White were among the famous attendees. Hough’s best man was fellow dancer Mark Ballas, who just announced his retirement from the DWTS competition.
The venue in Monterey County, California, was a combination of formal and informal. They exchanged vows in front of the mother tree, which is encircled by all the smaller trees. They scatter every seed, and it grows like an army of kids to defend the mother. Its symbolism was exquisite. They were there sowing the seeds for the expansion of their family.

The couple originally became acquainted in 2013 when Erbert was offered a seat on the So You Think You Can Dance tour, but they didn’t start d@ting until she joined the DWTS dance team. Hough has been a regular contestant on the popular ABC show for a long time. He has won the competition a record-breaking six times with different celebrity partners, and he has subsequently joined the panel of judges.
Hough and Erbert came forth with their romance in 2017, and five years later, in 2022, they announced their engagement with joint Instagram pictures showing a lavish arrangement of flowers, candles, and the couple cuddling in their Los Angeles home.

With an Instagram video posted on Wednesday that featured a montage of the couple as the background to him singing an original song about their relationship called “Hold Back Time,” Hough gave a hint about their impending wedding earlier in the week.
Hough captioned the post by writing, “I sat down at the piano, thinking about our relationship and the big step of committing my life to you. The amount of life we have already shared is pretty incredible. This video is a just a tiny snippet of what we’ve already experienced. Life seems to be moving so fast, I want to hold back time as much as I possibly can to savor each and every moment with you. I can’t wait to continue building memories and a beautiful life with you, together.”
Erbert wrote in the comments, “I love you from the deepest depths of my heart. Thank you for choosing me in this life.”
Following this, Hough and Erbert will perform as dance partners together during their Symphony of Dance national tour, which starts on September 28. The forthcoming season of Dancing With the Stars will see Hough resume his role as a judge.
