With this announcement, CBS joins the ranks of shows that have been renewed for the upcoming 2022-23 TV season, including NCIS: Los Angeles; NCIS: Hawaii; The Neighborhood; Bob Hearts Abishola; Young Sheldon; Ghosts; CSI: Vegas; and NCIS: Los Angeles.
To date, S.W.A.T. has averaged 6.6 million total viewers and a 0.8 demo rating (with Live+7 DVR playback), placing it 12th and 9th among the 14 dramas broadcast by CBS this television season.
S.W.A.T.’s 100th episode airs this Sunday at 10/9c, and the news of its renewal comes at the same time. When bodycam footage left at a local news station appears to show Hondo shooting two police officers, he is forced to flee while the team works to clear his name in that landmark hour, titled “The Fugitive.”.
Dramas such as Blue Bloods, The Equalizer, and FBI, as well as comedies such as Magnum P.I. and Magnum P.I.: the USA are still waiting to hear if they will be renewed for a second season.
