A non-profit fan film called Spider-Man: Lotus is partly inspired on two well-known Spider-Man tales: “The Kid Who Collects Spider-Man” and “Spider-Man: Blue.” The 1983 edition of The Amazing Spider-Man #248 features the story “The Kid Who Collects Spider-Man” by Roger Stern, Ron Frenz, Terry Austin, Bob Sharen, and Diana Albers. It concentrates on Timothy Harrison, a young boy who is terminally sick, whom Spider-Man sees and reveals several of his secrets, including his origin.
The tale was famously turned into a Spider-Man: The Animated Series episode. Peter Parker returns to the scene where Gwen Stacy was ki!!ed by the Green Goblin in Spider-Man: Blue, written by Jeph Loeb, Tim Sale, Steve Buccellato, Richard Starkings, and Wes Abbott. A flashback gives their connection additional depth. We will go over everything there is to know about Spider Man Lotus in this article.
Spider Man Lotus Release Date
The planned fan film Spider-Man: Lotus, which has been dogged by controversy since 2022, has a new poster and a release date that were just revealed by writer/director Gavin J. Konop.
Konop said in a Twitter post that Spider-Man: Lotus will be coming to YouTube for free on August 10th, 2023. He also uploaded a Marvel fan movie poster made by Israel Soteldo, which shows the Webslinger perched on a structure in the midst of a downpour.
In October 2021, Spider-Man: Lotus’ debut teaser was released. One year later, lead actor Warden Wayne and producer Konop were accused of uttering racial and homophobic remarks.

Konop has also expressed his gratitude to everyone who contributed to the undertaking and helped him realize his dream of making a Spider-Man movie. “So, after three and a half years of work, I can finally say that Spider-Man: Lotus is coming close to the finish line. And I never thought I’d actually be saying that bc all of this started as the dream of a kid. And now it’s become the creation of hundreds of artists who have put so much time and effort into the movie,” Konop said in a video message he posted on Twitter.
“I made this video as a tribute to not only the journey of making the movie but also as a thank you to the entire cast and crew who have put everything they have into making this movie a reality. So, from that little kid who always wanted to make his Spider-Man movie, thank you.” Let’s now explore the heated discussion that the film has sparked.

Explaining Spider Man Lotus Controversy
The Marvel fandom was excited to hear about Spider-Man: Lotus when it was initially revealed. However, the fan film turned into a contentious endeavor as numerous clips of Wayne making homophobic and racial remarks were posted online in June 2022, leading many people—including the VFX team—to distance themselves from Spider-Man: Lotus.
Following the public condemnation of the actor’s prior transgressions by Konop, a number of fans started to recall that the writer-director had previously made similar racist remarks. As a result, Konop deleted his Twitter account and stopped using social media. On July 3, 2023, he came back to Twitter.
